This anxiety type is common and its measurement and evaluation are very beneficial during psychiatric treatments. The current research aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the dental anxiety questionnaire. For this purpose, 300 people who had a history of visiting a dentist were randomly selected. After obtaining informed consent to participate in the research, the dental anxiety questionnaire was completed by these people. The obtained data were analyzed using LISREL and SPSS software. The findings of exploratory factor analysis indicated the extraction of a major factor; also, the discovered structure for the dental anxiety questionnaire was confirmed through the analysis of confirmatory factors. In addition, the internal consistency of the questionnaire was studied using Cronbach's alpha method (α=0.94) and split-half (r=0.94), which was high. According to the obtained results, the dental anxiety questionnaire has the necessary psychometric properties and can be used by specialists to evaluate dental anxiety.
